I've been on probably 15 or so AirBnB experiences, and this is one of the absolute BEST I have ever been on. Raf is the best host you could ask for, and conveys his love of Filipino culture in a sincere and infectious way. The food was absolutely delicious, the company incredible, and the timing and pacing perfect. One of the best nights I've had since I moved to NYC... I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat! - Fiona

We had an amazing adventure on Raf’s tour. First, Raf is friendly and welcoming. He has a deep knowledge of the food and drew connections between it and his experiences as a child in the Philippines. We really enjoyed trying these foods for the first time. Also, the company was great. All of the other guests were visiting from Europe, Australia, and Centra America. It was fun to connect with them over something new for all of us. Great experience! - Anna

The food tour with Raf was one of coolest experiences I’ve had to date in NYC. Being part Filipino I was excited to eat food I grew up with and also try new ones as well. Raf was extremely knowledge not only about the cuisine but also provided neat insights into Filipino culture/history in the NY area. The tour started with small plates, moved on to entrees and finished with dessert; all of which were amazing. Raf was an excellent host and I left feeling like I had met up with a family member instead of going on a tour. I would highly recommend this tour and plan on letting my Filipina grandma know I had amazing pancit in NYC (although hers is still the best). - Bronson

This experience was everything I hoped it might be plus much more. As might be expected the food was delicious but most of all it was Raf’s warm and friendly manner that made it so special. The group just naturally felt at ease in his presence- as if we had known each other for a long time. It is a real skill to be able to create that feeling among a group and Raf does it effortlessly (or so it seems!). I loved all the little touches of stories and gifts that Raf bought to the table to make it feel special. He even altered the menu so there was enough vegetarian options for me- and those dishes were superb! If you enjoy food and good company don’t hesitate. Thanks Raf sharing your culture and being such a welcoming host. - Ben

Raf is the BEST!!! His energy and vibe is so warm and welcoming. He literally makes this tour feel like you are sitting in his living room and he is hosting you in his home. From the beginning he was a wealth of knowledge. My boyfriend is Filipino and even he had questions and learned about new things. The tour is perfectly paced. The food was AMAZING, seriously, it was REALLY good. Raf did and awesome job selecting the food on the menu. The portions were perfect as well. You can tell the restaurant owners respect and admire Raf. This tour is a MUST DO in NYC. You will be fed and happy. - Sheona

Apart from acting as dinner host for this experience, Raf acts as gastro- and cultural ambassador for the Philippines. Raf's passion for promoting his home country’s cuisine is evident in this well thought out progressive dinner served up by three neighborhood Filipino restaurants. For most of our small group’s participants it was a discovery of what may be an undervalued ethnic cuisine; for myself, it was a delightful rediscovery. As each dish was served, Raf offered some background and other contextual information, indulging not only our appetites but our curiosity. After the experience, Raf sent us a message listing the dishes we had tried and the restaurants that we visited. All in all, a highly enjoyable evening and one that I would unequivocally recommend. - Karla
